Seminar on Recent Trends in Engineering and Interaction with Faculty from Queen Mary University, London at MRIU

The speaker for the seminar was Dr.Maged Elkashlan, Associate Professor in Communicationfrom Queen Mary University of London. He is Editor, IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, Editor, IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology and Editor, IEEE Communications Letters with a vast experience in the research areas of Communication. The Research spans the area of wireless communications and statistical signal processing with special emphasis on distributed information processing, security, massive MIMO, millimeter wave communications, heterogeneous and small cell networks, 5G communication etc. Dr. Elkashlan covered the entire spectrum of research areas in communication with emphasis on the millimeter waves, commercial applications of E and V bands and Energy harvesting. He projected that by 2020 there would be 50 billion connected devices – 6 for every connected person and how to bridge the Gap using Multi-Gigabit Millimeter Wave. The development of security in the physical layer had to be tapped upon. Around 70 students and faculty members took part in the seminar. Executive Director and Dean FET, MRIU, Dr.M.K.Soni, graced the occasion and congratulated HOD –ECE, Dr.Dipali Bansal for organizing this Seminar involving Faculty from abroad. As a conclusive part of his talk, there was an interactive session between students and the speaker to clear any doubts and queries. Overall, it was a very informative session aiming at inspiring and educating students so that they could choose their area of interest for research and project preparation.
