Mediation and Arbitration: Friends or Foes?

This was the fifth in a series of webinars organised by the Centre of Excellence on Alternative Dispute Resolution (CADR) at the Faculty of Law, jointly with UNCCI, which is the UNCITRAL’s National Coordination Committee for India.

The superstar cast of speakers at this event were: a man whose name is synonymous with mediation in India (Sriram Panchu); a sitting judge from the High Commercial Court of Croatia who is also an active mediator and arbitrator (Judge Srdan Simac); a very distinguished judge from the Calcutta High Court (Justice Moushumi Bhattacharya), and a man who was instrumental in steering global and regional  efforts to promote institutional arbitration and also Singapore as an arbitration hub (Professor Lawrence Boo).

The 195 attendees on the webinar came from far and wide, including Canada, UK, Germany, Italy, Croatia, Serbia, Hungary, Ethiopia, Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa, Kyrgyzstan, Argentina, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Indonesia, Vietnam, Brunei, Philippines, Japan, Australia and India.
