About Department

Welcome to the Department of Public Health dentistry

It gives me great pleasure to lead this distinguished department. Since 2008, we have been committed to excellence in dental education, research, and service.

We operate with the ultimate goal of enhancing patient welfare through evidence-based Dental Public Health Programs. Our department has grown and evolved over the years, introducing a novel subject, 'Research & Innovation Catalyst,' which is now a core part of the first three years of the undergraduate program at MRDC. With a team of expert faculty members teaching this subject, we have developed modules that foster critical thinking and inspire students to generate their own innovations. As a result of implementing this program for over three years, the department has witnessed remarkable achievements, including students publishing over 150 papers, earning more than 60 awards, securing ICMR STS Projects, and obtaining DST Grants.

Furthermore, our department is committed to patient welfare. Through our flagship programs such as Faridabad Smiles, Faridabad Schools DantSurakshaAbhiyan, District oral Health Programme and the Khushi Project (aimed at individuals with special needs), we have screened over a hundred thousand patients and provided treatment to more than forty thousand of them. Our dedication to community service and vaccination drives during the challenging times of 2020 and 2021 was recognized when we received the prestigious Dr. Kedar N Rustagi Award in 2021.

The Public Health Dentistry Department is a vital component of dental education and healthcare systems. We focus on the broader aspects of oral health, emphasizing preventive measures and promoting dental well-being within communities and target populations.
