Brief Research Profile
Dr Vijay Janyani is a Professor in Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) at Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT) Jaipur. Presently he is also the Head of the Department. He was the Head of Materials Research Center, MNIT Jaipur during 2018-2020. He obtained B.Engg and M.Engg degrees from MREC (now MNIT), and PhD from University of Nottingham, UK under Commonwealth Scholarship.
In his teaching and research career of more than two decades, he has been Investigator of a number of funded research projects (both national and international) in the area of Optical Communication and Photonics, sponsored by reputed organisations like DRDO, DST, JSPS, SERI etc. He has successfully completed the Indo-UK consortium project UKIERI which was a major multi-Institutional project in the domain of Microstructured Optical Fibers, as Coordinator from MNIT. He has been a Host Scientist for Visiting Fellows under C V Raman International Fellowship for African Researchers, administered by Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, and Host Scientist for Visiting Researchers under RTF DCS Fellowship Scheme for Scientists of Developing Countries, administered by NAM S&T Center, Government of India. He has been conferred a Career Award for Young Teachers (CAYT) by the All India Council for Technical Education. He also served as Coordinator-Campus Wide Networking (CWN), Nodal Officer-National Knowledge Network (NKN) and Coordinator-Global Initiative of Academic Networks (GIAN). He has been member of various level committees such as Board of Studies, Senate, Selection Committees, Review Committees of various Universities, and an expert/member on the panel of important Government bodies like UPSC, NPIU, DST, AICTE, RBSE, SPFU, NCERT etc. He has been the Chairman of IEEE Rajasthan Subsection during 2018-2019 (two years). He has published more than 180 research papers in reputed journals and conferences, and a number of book chapters.
He has supervised ten PhDs till date and currently eight are underway. He has been member of Technical Program Committee of many IEEE conferences, and reviewer or editorial board member of reputed journals like IEEE/Elsevier/IET/Springer/Hindawi. He is on the panel of Distinguished Traveling Lecturer Program of reputed international societies like SPIE (USA) and OSA (USA) under which he has delivered many invited talks across the globe on recent advances in photonics and related technologies.
He is a Senior Member of IEEE USA, Member of IEEE Photonics Society, Member of IEEE COMSOC, IEEE NTC, Life Fellow of the Optical Society of India (OSI-India), Life Fellow of Institution of Engineers (India), Senior Member of OSA (USA), Senior Member of SPIE (USA) and Life Fellow of Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) India. His current research interests include fiber optics and communication, photonics, optical networks, numerical modeling, nonlinear photonics, photonic crystal based photovoltaic and devices and all-optical systems.

Prof Raj Senani obtained B.Sc. in 1966 from Lucknow University, B.Sc. (Engg.) in Electrical Engineering in 1971 from HBTI, Kanpur, M.E. (Electrical Engineering) with Honors in 1974 from MNREC (now MNNIT), Allahabad and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering for some of his independent research on the `Realization of Some Classes of Active Networks` in 1988, from MNNIT, University of Allahabad.
Dr. Senani held several positions at Delhi Institute of Technology and was Director, Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (NSIT).After his superannuation on 31st March, 2015, he was re-employed as a Professor Emeritus, in the Division of ECE, NSIT from April 01, 2020 to 31 March 2020. Concurrently, he had also been working as an Adjunct Professor for NIT, Patna. With effect from June 08, 2020, he has now been employed by the NSUT as an Honorary Professor in the ECE Department.
Professor Senani’s areas of teaching and research interest are Current-Mode Circuits and Techniques, Bipolar and CMOS Analog Integrated Circuits, Active Circuit Analysis and Synthesis, Analog VLSI, Modern Filter Design, Analog Signal Processing, Electronic Instrumentation, Chaotic oscillators, Memristors and other mem-elements and Implementation and Applications of Modern Electronic Circuit Building Blocks. He has authored/co-authored over 165 research papers in refereed international journals- which have received (as per Google Scholar) over 6000 citations with an h-index of 43 and i-10 index of over 125 so far.
He has authored/co-authored 05 Books (Research Monographs)- three of which have been published by Springer, namely, `Current feedback operational amplifiers and their applications’, Springer Science+Business Media, New York, 2013; `Current Conveyors: Variants, Applications and Hardware Implementations’, Springer International Publishing, Switzerland, 2015 and `Sinusoidal Oscillators and Waveform Generators employing Modern Electronic Circuit Building Blocks’, Springer, Switzerland 2016; and one, entitled `Gyrators, Simulated inductors and related immittances-Realizations and applications` by IET (UK) in July 2020.
He was the recipient of the Second Laureate of the 25th Khwarizmi International Award for Excellence and Dedication in Research in 2012.Professor Senani was ranked among the Top 1% Reviewers of the World for Engineering and Interdisciplinary areas, for three consecutive years 2017, 2018 and 2019 by Publon (Web of Science Group).In 2020, he featured in the list of Top 2% Scientists of the World in the areas of Science, Engineering and Technology, as per a study conducted by the Stanford University researchers.
On 15th September, 2021- the Engineers Day, he was conferred with the `Eminent Engineer of the year 2021 Award` by the Institution of Engineers, India (IEI).
