Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, Faculty of Applied Science celebrated ‘World Food Safety Day’ on June 7, 2019. ‘World Food Safety Day’ basically is an idea of the United Nations General Assembly adopted by Food Safety and Standard Authority of India. The eve was celebrated first ever in India. The theme chosen was “Food Safety, everyone’s business”. This day aims to strengthen efforts to ensure that the food we eat is safe.
The students and faculties celebrated the Food Safety day which began with the pledge seeking ceremony on food safety “to do everything in my power, to promote safe food, and to prevent, detect, and manage food borne risks”. The E-posters on world food safety day were circulated to the different departments and uploaded on college website; and social media sites for its promotion and sensitization.
