WORLD CANCER DAY 2017
Every year, an initiative is taken for World Cancer Day on February 4, which unites the entire world to fight against the global cancer epidemic together. Just like every other year, The World Cancer Day was commemorated at Sarvodaya Hospital, Sector 8, Faridabad. The event was organised by Jeevandayini & Sarvodaya Hospital and Research Centre, in association with Udaan, Win Over Cancer, Manav Rachna University, Waqt De Rakt De, Faridabad Donors Club and Khushi Ek Ehsaas.
The theme for this year’s World Cancer Day campaign was “We can. I can.” which is an empowering message to give out that both collective and individual actions can make a difference. The message suggests that we can raise awareness and improve cancer education for everyone.
The event started with the Health Awareness Talk on Cervical and Lung Cancer. It was followed by Bone Marrow/Stem Cell Donor Registration drive wherein a lot of people came forward for registering themselves. Sarvodaya Hospital also sponsored Pap Smear Screening to more volunteers as a pledge to eliminate cancer and to mark the conclusion of Cervical Cancer Awareness month.
The event was successful with the help of all the volunteers, the guest speakers and above all with all the people who joined in to act against cancer epidemic.
