Workshop on Rotating Machine Design
Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, FET, MRIIRS recently organized a workshop on ‘Rotating machine design and development using JMAG FEA software’ in association with PWSIM solutions for the manufacturers.
The session began with the introduction to BLDC and PMSM motors by Mr. P. S Roy, Director and CEO, MOTORZ Design and Manufacturing Pvt. Ltd. He explained to calculate the rating of motor for different electrical applications like electrical vehicles, refrigerators, coolers, etc.
In the second session Mr. Satpal Singh demonstrated a different model of motors used for ceiling fans. He also enlightened the audience with the latest star rating used in India and how the economy of ceiling fans is changing.
Dr. V. Koteswara Rao explained the Induction motor design in the third session.
In the next session Mr. Siddesh S explained how JMAG software can simulate the electromagnetic thermal structure and help the designers to optimize the design before physical prototype is made.
