Workshop on “Green Chemistry for Sustainable Solutions”

The workshop entitled “Green Chemistry for Sustainable Solutions” was conducted at Dr. C.N.R. Rao Research and Experimentation Centre at MRU. The workshop aimed to promote Green Chemistry for designing product and processes that minimize the use and generation of hazardous waste. Teachers and students from Manav Rachna International Schools in Sector 14, Faridabad; Sector 51 Noida; Sector 46 Gurugram and Charmwood participated in the workshop. The workshop began with an overview by Dr. Megha Mittal, Head of Chemistry Department. The session was graced by Director-Faculty of Education Ms. Sanyogita Sharma; Dean-Students Welfare, Prof. Sangeeta Banga; Dean-Applied Sciences, Prof. B.M. Bahal and all the faculty members of the department.

First technical session was on “making chemistry fun to learn”. In second technical session, participants were explained about the working of installed instruments in the laboratory. The technical sessions were conducted by Dr. S.K. Shukla, Dr. Priti Gupta, Dr. Vinayak Pathak and Dr. Megha Mittal. Participants identified the need of such workshop for developing their skills for a better understanding of chemistry.

The session ended with the address of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Manav Rachna University, Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Srivastava. He focused upon the need of such interactions where great idea exchange can take place. He also appreciated winners of technical sessions.
