Third chapter of International Lecture Series on “Bharatvarshiya Communication”

Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, FMeH held the third chapter of the International Lecture Series on “Bharatvarshiya Communication”. Prof Nirmala Mani Adhikary, a prominent communication theorist from Nepal, recently.

Addressing the audience, Dr Adhikary said Bharatvarshiya Communication is the first communication model in diagrammatic form, from Bharatvarshiya / Hindu perspective. He said Sadharanikaran, considered as the primary approach of communication from Bharatvarshiya perspective, means mutual understanding, commonness or oneness among the people.

Dr. Adhikary who has propounded the Sadharani-karan Model of Communication—which represents the communication process from the Bharatvarshiya / Hindu perspective, is the Associate Professor at the Department of Languages and Mass Communication, Kathmandu University’s School of Arts. He is author/editor of as many as 50 published books: including “Theory and Practice of Communication – Bharata Muni” and “Sanchar Siddhantikaran” (that is, Theorizing communication). Dozens of research articles and hundreds of popular articles written by him are published in different languages across the world.

Prof. (Dr) Maithili Ganjoo, Dean, Faculty of Media Studies and Humanities (FMeH) delivered the welcome address. The vote of thanks was given by Dr Aman Vats, head of Department of Journalism and Mass Communication.
