Teacher’s Day Celebration 2019

Department of Student’s Welfare, Manav Rachna University organized Teachers’ Day Celebration on September 5, 2019 for the students and staff of MRU.

Namit Aman and Pawan Kaushik from the faculty of Engineering were the anchors for the event who managed to entertain the audience with their wit and quick humour.

The event commenced with poem recitation by Deepanshu from Rehnuma- The Literary Society of the university and was followed by two jubilant dance performances. Rudra- The Dance Society, presented a lively group performance which managed to encapsulate the intricacies of a student-mentor relationship. The second one was a heart wrenching solo by Sanju  who was able to express through his performance, the importance of teacher not only as mentor, but as “second parents”, and as pillar of motivation and emotional support.

The main attraction of the event was Ramp walk by teachers. The students were really enthralled to see their teachers smartly walking and making their mark on the ramp which was judged by Abhishek Bhardwaj, President of Student Council, MRU and Shreya, Event Coordinator.

Confidence and poised walk showcased by the teachers left the audience in awe. Following the ramp walk, teachers introduced themselves with a quote describing their personality. They were later asked funny, stimulating riddles by the anchors to which they responded with wit and acuity.

Noora- The Fashion Society took the event forward with their tribute to teachers with their captivating performance and well-choreographed walks.

Khalbali- The Theatre Society showcased the important roles teachers play in our lives and the way they put us forward for our good. The last performance of the day was given by Shubham Mavi and Vikas Vashist who gave the event a joyous ending it deserved.

 At the end of the event, prize distribution to the teachers was done. The titles won were:

Best Walk: Babita Parashar ma’am from Department of Education;

Most Talented: Pradeep Maurya sir from Department of Mechanical Engineering; and

“Einstein” for who managed to solve the riddles in a fraction of a second went to Malini ma’am from Department of Education.

The event was concluded with a cake cutting ceremony for which our respected Vice chancellor, Registrar, the Dean -Academics and the Dean- DSW were invited. The event was a major success and was very well appreciated.
