Students of BBA program at Department of Management and Commerce attend 9th Chevening India Lecture and panel Discussion on” SDGs: Challenges in implementation and way forward for India” at United Nations, Lodhi Estate, New Delhi.

The Students of BBA program   attended the 9th Chevening India Lecture and panel Discussion on” SDGs: Challenges in implementation and way forward for India” at United Nations, Lodhi Estate, New Delhi.They were accompanied by  faculty and Programme co ordinators,  Prof  DrBinduAgrawal and Prof DrPragatiChauhan

The eminent panel of speakers consisted of Dr Ajay Mathur, Director General, TERI, MrGovind Mohan, IAS, Principal Secretary Energy &Principal Resident Commissioner, Govt. of Sikkim, MsDivyaDutt, Associate Director, TERI and MrShaileshPathak, CEO, City Infra Capital(Chevening Alumni India).

The discussion highlighted the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and 169 targets that are also  a part of the  National Development agenda of Indian Government. The discussion identified the challenges and deliberated on how to overcome these challenges. The state of Sikkim is now a Global role model in this direction with the fulfillment of 9 SDGs ( poverty, sustainable agriculture, climate change etc)and has become the first organic state with focus on organic farming.

The students had an informative learning  experience on how the country is preparing to the meet these challenges.
