An International Conference on “Current Approaches in Nutraceuticals and Food Technology for Diabetes Management (ICNDM-2019)” was held at Periyar University, Salem, Tamil Nadu, India recently. Ms. Shivangi Bhatia, student of M.Sc. Nutrition and Dietetics, and Ms. Divya Puri, Assistant Professor, Department of Nutrition & Dietetics, Faculty of Applied Sciences presented a paper entitled ‘Development and physico-chemical characterization of Nutri Ladoos’ in the convention on the behalf of MRIIRS. They acquired the second position in poster presentation.
The chief guest for the conference was Dr. Pasupuleti Visweswara Rao, Director, Institute of Food Security and Sustainable Agriculture, Malaysia.
It was a great conference with visionary speakers propounding on various aspects related to the theme. There were simultaneous poster presentations and oral sessions. The conference served as a platform to bring together forward-thinking professionals including researchers and academicians to share, deliberate and discuss various strategies for advancing in nutraceutical industry.
