Soft Skill Development Seminar powered by MREI in association with IJ Centre of Excellence organized at Manav Rachna to promote the Soft skilling of the workers in the Japanese manufacturing and allied industry

A Seminar on Soft Skill Development powered by Manav Rachna Educational Institutions (MREI) in association with the IJ Centre of Excellence (IJCOE) was held at the Manav Rachna campus. The aim was to promote the soft skilling of the workforce in the Japanese manufacturing and related industry with the intention of improving ownership drive and their basic mannerism of life. The initiative was proposed by the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Japan initiated in India through HIDA and ASSOCHAM. What is of utmost significance is the fact that given Manav Rachna’s commitment and drive towards soft skill development, the First Centre for Soft Skilling is going to be set up at Manav Rachna University to help take the initiative pertaining to Indians in Japanese companies. The Seminar at Manav Rachna was graced by a host of dignitaries including Mr Kazuharu Kono, Secretary General, Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in India (JCCI); Dr Sanjay Srivastava, Managing Director, Manav Rachna Educational Institutions (MREI); Dr N.C. Wadhwa, Vice Chancellor, MRIU; Mr So Kimura, First Secretary, Embassy of Japan in India; Mr G.P. Srivastava, Chief Advisor, ASSOCHAM; Mr Rahul Sharma, President, Indo-Japanese Centre of Excellence; Professor Jaideep Singh, Director-Industry Interface, MRU, among others.

While Mr G.P. Srivastava presented a broad National overview at the event, Mr Kazuharu Kono spoke about the ‘Importance of Soft Skill sessions for the Workforce’ and Mr Osamu Soda, Chief Sales Strategist , Recruitment Holding Co. Ltd Japan highlighted ‘How to upgrade Indian workers’ mindset to fit Japanese companies’. Addressing the gathering, Mr So Kimura spoke at length about the ‘Expectation from IJCOE project’ and highlighted its importance in enabling the workforce in the Japanese manufacturing and related industry to improve upon their personality so as to integrate themselves better with Japanese organizations. He spoke about human resource development and of the special economic ties between India and Japan in the light of the skill India initiatives.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Sanjay Srivastava, stated, “It is important to address the issue of Soft Skill Development at the workplace considering it can enhance performance and productivity and boost the confidence of the workforce so as to give their 100 per cent. Our Faculty at the Department of Psychology & Humanities, Manav Rachna University have prepared a module with a view to developing and transforming the persona and professional quality of the existing workforce of Japanese industries in Gurgaon. By looking into aspects like enhancing effectiveness, building positive relationships, moving on to the nest orbit, we are confident that it is going to benefit those who feel the need to reorient themselves to fit themselves into a corporate culture that is greatly committed towards excellence and growth.” Dr Sanjay Srivastava also shared his experiences of post Human Resource training.

A Training Module on Soft skill development was presented by Professor Jaideep Singh and Mr Nitesh of Manav Rachna to enlighten the audience about the significance of this novel venture.
