The 15 th edition of the Manav Rachna Corporate Cricket Challenge Cup came to a grand close
as Maruti Suzuki won the final match against Adidas. The Closing Ceremony witnessed the
gracious presence of Sh. Chetan Sharma, Former Indian Cricketer, and Chairman – Senior
Selection Committee, BCCI as the Chief Guest.
Also present during the Finale were Dr. Prashant Bhalla – President, MREI; Dr. Sanjay
Srivastava – MD, MREI; Mr. Sarkar Talwar – Director, Sports, MREI and other senior dignitaries
from Manav Rachna.
Dr. M.M. Kathuria, Trustee MREI graced the opening ceremony of the final match today as a
special guest. He congratulated the finalists for their stupendous performance during the
tournament and wished them luck for the finale.
Adidas won the toss and elected to bat first. The team scored 222 runs at the loss of 8 wickets
in 20 overs. The Maruti Suzuki team won the match by scoring 226 in 17.2 overs. Mr. Gaurav
Saini from Maruti Suzuki team was declared as the ‘Man of the Match’, Mr. Gaurav Saini from
Maruti Suzuki team was awarded as the Best Batsman of the tournament, Mr. Himanshu
Vashisht from team HCL became the best bowler of the tournament, Mr. Yogesh Rana from
Adidas was declared the Best Player of the tournament and The Fair Play trophy was lifted by
the JCB team.
The Champion’s Trophy was received by the Maruti Suzuki Cricket Team.
While addressing the audience, Sh. Chetan Sharma remembered his long association with
Manav Rachna from the times of Dr O P Bhalla and shared that Manav Rachna is just like a
family to him. He said, “It is always a pleasure to be back on the cricket field and I admire the
grounds of Manav Rachna as the cricket field here is just perfect for such tournaments.”

participated in the Cricket Challenge this year.
A total of 55 matches were played in the 15 th Manav Rachna Corporate Cricket Challenge 2022.
The teams were divided into 7 groups (with four teams in each group). During the first phase,
league matches were played. These were followed by Knock-Out Matches, Quarter Finals, and
the Semi Finals Match.
