Session Organized Under Collaborative Learning

Faculty of Computer Applications organized a peer group learning forum named Collaborative Learning. In the series of the presentation, two faculty members presented the research papers on 29th September 2018.

Dr. Neha Gupta, Associate Professor-CA & Mr. Siddharth Verma, Assistant Professor-CA gave a presentation on the topic “Tools of Opinion Mining”. First part of the presentation was covered by Dr. Neha in which she discussed the basics of opinion mining along with the discussion of various tools of opinion mining. Main focus of the presentation was on NLTK (Natural Language Tool Kit), a tool to mine the opinion of social networking site. Various steps involved in processing the opinion using NLTK were discussed. She also discussed python framework used in processing of NLTK toolkit.

Mr. Siddharth Verma, Assistant Professor-CA, discussed the practical aspect of the NLTK tool. He demonstrated the algorithm used to mine opinion using Python framework. He discussed PyCharm libraries along with tokenizer and tagger to count the positive and negative sentiments.

There was a reasonable question answer session with the speakers. All the queries raised by faculty members were answered very effectively.
