Projects from Manav Rachna win awards at Accenture Innovation Jockey & IESA Makeathon 2018

Year on year, students of Manav Rachna have been sweeping away the top honors at some of the most prestigious innovation challenges.

Following league, students of Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies (MRIIRS) have bagged the “Jury Choice Award” of the Accenture Innovation Challenge 2018 held at Bengaluru.

16 teams were selected from all over the country for this grand event from among 13,000 projects. Despite phenomenal competition from the best brains across the nation; Manav Rachna’s project VET (Virtual Exposure Therapy) which is a therapy to treat patients of Phobia, Depression and Mental Trauma won the hearts and the award! The team comprising IshlokVashishtha, DipeshNarwat, AakashBhadana and Himanshu Aggarwal were awarded with prizes worth Rs. 15,000 each and an Apple IPad (128 GB) for every team member.

The students of MREI also made it big by attaining the “Ticket to Finale” of IESA Makeathon 2018 during the regional rounds.  This grand Makeathon drives technology innovation for the semiconductor and electronic systems industry in India. The finale of IESA Makeathon shall be held on December 14. It is noteworthy that two teams from Manav Rachna from among the 21 participating teams of North India have won the “Ticket to the Finale”.

The project “Pulse” also bagged the “BEST SOCIAL INNOVATION AWARD” by JUincubator, BENGALURU. Pulse is an early detection tool for heart diseases and abnormalities developed by a team comprising Bharat Sundal (CSE, MRIIRS), AakashBhadana (CSE, MRIIRS), IshlokVashisht (ECE, MRIIRS) and DipeshNarwat (CSE, MRIIRS).

The second project CAELI: A “Smart Pollution Mask” to curb pollution related issues developed by Devdutt (ECE, MRIIRS); Vasu Kaushik (CSE, MRIIRS); and Shubhi Saxena (CSE, MRIIRS) is yet another social innovation.

The teams were mentored by Mr. Umesh Dutta, Dy. Director at Manav Rachna Innovation & Incubation Centre (MRIIC) who shared:“Our students have been working ceaselessly 24X7 in the MRIIC developing solutions for social good. Many of these projects have already won accolades, both at National and International platforms. We are confident that the future will see many new products and innovations developed by our students … being put into use.”
