Department of Students’ Welfare, Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies (MRIIRS) organized National Seminar on Anti Ragging- ‘PRERNA’ and Peace Education Programme today. Dr. Suneel Maggo, Director on the Board of Indian Institute of Merchant Banking presided over as the Guest of Honour. Team from The Prem Rawat Foundation (TPRF) comprising of Dr. Harish Kr. Gupta, Consultant and Professor Medicine at Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital; and Ms. Avinasha Sharma, English Lecturer, State Government Haryana was also present to introduce students to The Peace Education Programme.
Dr. N.C. Wadhwa, VC, MRIIRS introduced the concept of ragging to students and said that ragging is not just an act but a behavioral issue as well. He said, “Manav Rachna is not a name but a concept- ‘Be a Good Human Being’.”
Dhwani, a first year student of B.Tech- BioTech shared her experience as a fresher at Manav Rachna.
Dr. Suneel Maggo shared two Ps- Planning and Perseverance and said, “It will result in making you the most proficient person”. Sharing his personal experiences on ragging, he said that it is thought process that leads to ragging and ragging can be both physical and psychological.
Team from TPRF presented two videos to the students sharing beautiful messages of Prem Rawat which stated, ‘Your breath is your asset’ and ‘Solution to your every problem lies within you’. The TPRF team also motivated students to be a part of this Peace Education Programme.
During the seminar, certificates were also bestowed upon the students who excelled in Swachh Bharat Summer Internship 2018 organized by Govt. of India.
