Institution of Engineers India (IEI) Faridabad Local Chapter organized a one-day workshop on Industrial Safety: Accident Prevention, in collaboration with Department of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Computer Science and Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, MRIIRS recently. The workshop provided a platform to discuss various issues regarding the safety measures in industries.
The workshop was initiated by opening remarks of Er. Subhash Chandra, CM, IE(I) on the significance of Industrial safety by taking past tragedies occurred in India as examples. Er. Jitender Kumar Sharma, Director, Safety & Quality Forum shared his experience in the industry. He explained the role and meaning of industrial safety i.e how industrial safety manages all operations and events within an industry in order to protect its employees and assets by minimizing hazards, risks, accidents, and near misses.
Er. Dinesh Kumar, CM, IE(I), Delhi State Centre addressed the audience to create awareness about Industrial Safety and accident prevention. He also encouraged all including corporate people and institution faculty to be a member of IEI by stating the importance, function and vision of IEI.
Dr. M. K. Soni (Fellow Member IEI) and PVC, MRIIRS addressed the audience as the Chief Guest and envisaged the Manav Rachna Vision in Education Sector.
There were around 60 participants from industry and academia. The participating authors presented their industrial exposure on safety to meet with the desired objectives of the workshop.
Three best presentations were awarded by 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winner and were honoured with cash prizes. Mr. Joydeep Chakorborthy, Associate Professor Mechanical department bagged first prize. His work on Building Fire Safety of Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning was appreciated by one and all present there.
