MRDC conducted World No Tobacco Day rally on May 31, 2019. The rally was aimed at creating awareness and motivation towards tobacco cessation among masses. More than 300 students and faculty members of MRDC and about 100 participants from ESIC medical college participated in the event. The rally was flagged off from ESIC Medical College and reached Manav Rachna Vidyantariksha headquarters en-route BK Hospital, Faridabad.
The interns of MRDC performed a street play to motivate the population towards tobacco cessation and spreading the message about harmful effects of tobacco. The rally was flagged off by Dr. MM Kathuria, Trustee, MREI; Dr. NC Wadhwa, DG, MREI; Dr. Sanjay Srivastava, VC, MRIIRS; Dr. Asim Das, Principal, ESIC Medical College, and Dr. Arundeep Singh, Principal, MRDC. The event was a collaborative program of MRDC with ESIC Medical College and Rotary Club, Faridabad East.
The students and faculty raised slogans about ill effects of tobacco in various forms like bidi, cigarette and smokeless tobacco. Health education leaflets about ill effects of tobacco were also distributed among the general population.
