MRDC students attended National Workshop on Maxillofacial Prosthodontics
Post-graduate students of Department of Prosthodontics, Manav Rachna Dental College- Dr. Jigyasa, Dr. Divya, Dr. Nikhil, Dr. Sakshi, Dr. Uswah and Dr. Himani attended the National Workshop on Maxillofacial Prosthodontics. The workshop was jointly organized under the aegis of Indian Prosthodontic Society, Department of Prosthodontics, KG Medical University, Lucknow & Indian Prosthodontic Society, U.P. State Branch.
The workshop was conducted by Prof. Kanchan Dholam, Head, Department of Dental and Prosthetic Surgery, Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital, Mumbai & Team. The lecture emphasized on the importance of fixed oral and maxillofacial prosthesis and various stages of surgery as well as radiotherapy contemplated with the prosthesis. The speaker gave a brief introduction on brachytherapy and immediate surgical stents and prosthesis.
There was a hands-on demonstration on guide flange, and clinical representation of various fixed and removable cases with a keen focus on aesthetic camouflage and greater retention of the prosthesis.
It was a great learning curve where they reached to a greater depth of understanding in the importance and fabrication of maxillofacial prosthesis.
