MRIU students visit Yakult

Students of BSc- Nutrition and Dietetics, Vth semester along with 2 faculty members visited ‘Yakult Danone Industry’ New Delhi. The main objective of institutional visits is to provide students with an insight of the practical applications of what they are learning in theory. Theoretical knowledge is not enough for making a good professional career.

The main objective of the visit was to provide practical exposure and recent advancements made in the relevant field. The faculty members and students were guided and educated by Mr Aadish and Ms. Yamini, food quality controllers in Yakult.

Students were received with great warmth and ushered into a room where the presentation began. Ms. Yamini enlightened us on the history of Yakult, its origin in Japan and now worldwide accepted probiotic drinks. Students and accompanying teachers were given a tour of the factory with detailed commentary from Yakult bottle manufacturing to the preparation of probiotics and assembly line of filling and packaging.

Students showed immense interest in the manufacturing unit and some even came away nurturing ambitions of working in the organization. It was a successful visit.
