MRIU organized distinguish lecture by International Speaker from MIT, US and launched Technical Magazine

Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Faculty of Engineering & Technology, MRIU in association with IEEE Computer Society, Delhi section organized a distinguished lecture on “Navigation Sensors and Systems in GNSS Degraded and Denied Environments” on 17th Nov 2017.

The Distinguish Speaker was the renowned personality from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA, Dr. George T. Schmidt who enriched the students and faculty members with his precious knowledge in the area of Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS). He is serving MIT, USA for last 46 years. Dr. George is a receiver of NATO’s highest technical award, the von Kármán medal. He is a member of the Board of Governors of the IEEE Aerospace and Electronic Systems Society (AESS) and an avionics consultant. He is an AIAA Fellow and an IEEE Life Fellow.

Faculty of Engineering & Technology also launched its Technical Magazine “INGENIEUR SPHERE” which is intended for students and faculty members to get updated about latest technologies.

The event was graced by the presence of Dr. N. C. Wadhwa, VC, MRIU, Dr. M. K. Soni, PVC, MRIU, Dr. Krishna Kant, ED & Dean FET, Dr. S. S. Tyagi, Chair, IEEE Computer Society, Delhi section and professor CSE, Dr. Suresh Kumar, HoD, CSE, Dr. R. S. Tarancha, HoD, Aeronautical, and faculty members and students.

The event started with the welcome address by Dr. S. S. Tyagi, chair, IEEE Computer Society, Delhi Section and professor, CSE. He mentioned about quality technical education at MRIU and its association with world’s largest professional organization IEEE.

After that Ms. Bindiya Ahuja, Editor, FET Technical Magazine briefed about the objectives, benefits and future plans of the magazine.

Dr. Krishna Kant, Executive Director & Dean, FET, MRIU specified the benefits of GPS system and congratulated the editorial board for publishing the first issue of the magazine successfully.

Dr. M.K. Soni, Pro Vice Chancellor, MRIU motivated the faculty members and students to publish their research articles in renowned IEEE transactions.

Dr. N. C. Wadhwa, Vice Chancellor, MRIU mentioned about the importance and advantages of navigation system and its applications.

After that Dr. George T. Schmidt delivered the expert lecture. The lecture was very valuable and knowledgeable about Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS). Students got knowledge about GPS Spoofing attacks, jamming and navigation technologies. With full energy, Dr. George answered all the queries of the students and cleared their doubts. He also offered the students to answer their queries through email in future.
