MHRD Innovation Cell organized a webinar on 8th May, 2020 in which Leadership Talk with Mr. Sushanto Mitra, Founder & CEO of Lead Angel Network on topic: “Understand Angel and Venture Capital Funding –What is there for Early Stage Innovator & Entrepreneurs” was organized.
Mr. Sushanto Mitra discussed about the importance of raising fund for the founder of startup to grow the business, the right stage of raising fund, assessment/identification/shortlisting of right investors (Angel./ Venture Capital (VC) Agency) to approach, the checklist of documents / artefacts which the founder needs to prepare putting lot of effort into it and then the complete process of granting of fund along with various stages of funding. His advice to startup founders is to start for fund raising at an early stage as it takes time to get the grant of funding.
The startup founder needs to do investor profiling before approaching an investor. Founder needs to do lot of homework from the perspective of market research, competitive analysis, financial analysis, business model, target customers, unique selling point of startup’s offering (basically the problem startup wants to solve, the solution, novelty/uniqueness of solution and why customers will buy solution). So, the founder needs to prepare pitch deck, business plan, funding requirement based on detailed level of cost components, financial projection, growth potential of target customer segment and competitor analysis.
