MHRD Innovation Cell organized a webinar as a live YouTube session on 1st May 2020 from 3 PM to 4 PM. The Leadership Talk was delivered by Ms. Geetika Dayal,
Executive Director, TiE Delhi- NCR on the topic: “Role of Network Enablers in driving I&E in HEIs – A Case of TiE, India”.
Faculty members and Students of Manav Rachna University attended the session. The session was very much informative and inspiring for students with an entrepreneurial mindset. Ms. Geetika started the session by narrating in an elaborative way the history of the evolution of TiE, which is the world’s largest network of entrepreneurs, a non-profit organization established in 1992 and had been growing all along since its inception.
TiE was chartered by a group of successful entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley who wanted to help create more Entrepreneurs who are the job creators and contribute to the growth of the economy and the nation. Today it is driven by 61 autonomous Chapters across 17 countries. It has now more than 20 Chapters in India. Overall TiE has 20,000 global members including top Entrepreneurs, VCs, Private Equity, Angels, Law Firms, Technology, and Management Professionals. TiE plays the role of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (I&E) enabler.
It provides collaboration opportunities with Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) to drive the I&E ecosystem,
Ms. Geetika Dayal concluded the session by talking about the lockdown strategy adopted by TiE Delhi-NCR as running a daily series of webinars by industry leaders, who are role models of successful entrepreneurs, online mentoring helpline, TiE Institute online courses to keep the startup ecosystem enabled. They work with incubators in HEIs. In the future, they want to run Summer Bootcamp for students, FDPs, Mentor the Mentor program (like Train the Trainer program). As her concluding message, Ms. Geetika said that the only thing which is needed during COVID crisis apart from the service of health workers is the spirit of resilience, out of the box thinking, spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship.
