Medicinal Garden for Environment

With an initiative towards the conservation of Medicinal Plants, a garden with more than 33 species of medicinal & herbal plants have been developed by Department of Biotechnology, FET, MRIIRS under the expertise of the botanist, Dr. Nidhi Didwania, Associate Professor, Department of Biotechnology at the University Campus. Medicinal Garden visitors will find plants that help prevent or cure many ailments from cold, sore throat to cancer. The focus is to provide a learning-centered education where the student will have an intimate interaction with the environment of healing and to help people know and to learn more about the role of nature in healing and wellness.

Traditional medicine (largely plant based) is now regarded as complementary to modern medicine commonly known as Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) and its usage around the world is increasing day by day.  Some of the Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) which are basically plant based include Ayurveda, Sidha, Unani, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Herbal Medicine, Aromatherapy, Homeopathy, Naturopathy, Flower Remedies, etc.
