Matribhasha Diwas

“Bharat ki Shaan Hai Hindi, Bharat Ka Sammaan Hai Hindi”

Manav Rachna University, in association with Akhil Bhartiya Sahitya Parishad organised a Kavi Sammelan in the campus to commemorate the MATRIBHASHA DIWAS, in order to appreciate poetry the event turned out to be a great success. It was a collective effort to preserve and enrich our Indian Literature, Education and Culture. The team of the poets were altogether a crowd-puller.

The programme commenced with the lamp lighting ceremony. Dr Sangeeta Banga, Dean Students Welfare, MRU presided the programme by welcoming the guests and presenting saplings as a token of love and respect. The lilting noon was graced by the Hon’ble Pro VC Dr VK Mahana, MRU, Dr IK Kilam Dean Students Welfare, MRIU, Dr RC Chaturvedi among others.  The chief guest for the event, Dr Harisharan Verma, a senior writer and researcher spoke about the importance of poems and talked about how the world is not appreciating Literature anymore.

Yashdeep Kaushik “Revadi” then began by reciting some witty couplets and introduced all the members of his team. He then invited Kuldeep Singh “Brajwasi”, Hasya Kavi, onto the platform to share his mirthful poems with the students. He started off by quoting few lines of Shri Vishnu Saxena:

“Bade Hi Shawk Se Lekar Lipstick Baithte Hai Jo, Lagani Unhe Apne Haath Se Bindi Bhi Nahi Aati,

Badi Hairat Hai Iss Hindustan Me Mere Dost, Hume English Toh Aati h, Magar Hindi Nahi Aati.

He then went on hilariously describing love failures and the message to be learned from them via poems. Balmohan, MRU student, was also a part of the team. He was equally amazing, particularly with his gibes towards every member of his team and his poem “Tum ko Bhool Na Paunga Mein”.

Yashdeep Kaushik then carried on reciting some meaningful poems called “Joota” [Shoe] and “Rancho”. Those were some life changing and meaningful poems that the students loved. During the recitations the programme went on air through RMR having short and live interviews with the poets.

Ajay “Agyat” was invited next onto the platform. Although he mentioned all the topics that the other three conveyed earlier, Ajay “Agyat” presented the verses in a more sensible and yet in an amusing way, which the elder dignitaries present there, appreciated.

“Khushi milti hai gham ka har fasana bhool jate hai, Maa ki god me jakar zamana bhool jate hai”

Dr RC Chaturvedi proposed vote of thanks to everyone present there. The programme concluded with National Anthem by one and all. Ayush Srivastava anchored the programme well. The whole event would not have been possible without the support and the able guidance of Dr Sangeeta Banga, Dean Students Welfare, Dr Chhavi Kulshreshtha, Literary Society Coordinator and Yashika Hasija Vice- President MRU (Student Council),  helping the members of the Literary Society in organising the whole event and contributing their time to preserve the linguistic diversity of our country.
