Manav Rachna NewGen IEDC organizes Faculty Development Program on Entrepreneurship Development

Manav Rachna NewGen IEDC is an organization geared towards speeding up the growth and success of start-up and early-stage companies. 

It offers integrated, customized Innovation-Based Incubation support services for potential high investable entrepreneurs and enterprises.  And also scouts for innovative entrepreneurs build on ideation leading to develop a business concepts provide skills and competencies through capacity building/ training programs towards building effective enterprises.

The 13-day FDP is designed to train and motivate the faculty members from Universities, Engineering Colleges, Polytechnic Colleges, and Entrepreneurship Development Institutions that are involved or likely to be involved in the promotion of entrepreneurship-related activities. There were only 25 seats available but after an overwhelming response of participants from all over the nation, it was extended to 34. Participants from IIPMC Bangalore, AMU, JAMOS, GNDU, DAV, Budha College, Karnal, and several colleges from Bhiwani and Kanyakumari have registered their participation in the event.

Dr. Sanjay Srivastava, Vice Chancellor, MRIIRS in his inaugural speech welcomed Dr. Gambhir and Dr. Pandit and expressed his delight in having such esteemed path-breakers to guide the future entrepreneurs. He enlightened the audience that NewGEn IEDC is now the home of 27 start-ups and how it has received a funding of 2.87 crores from DST, GoI and NSTEDB, GoI.  

Dr. Mohit Gambhir, Innovation Director, MHRD Innovation Cell, and also the guest of honor for the inaugural session stated that “Now we see our students, approaching us with some great ideas and we are at the point where the ideas will be implemented because now, we have funding and resources to realize those dreams. The Ministry of Human Resource Development has launched an initiative ‘YUKTI 2.0’ to help systematically assimilate technologies having commercial potential and information related to incubated start-ups in higher education institutions.”

Prof. (Dr.) Unnat Pandit, Dean – IPM Cell, AVISME (JNU), also shared his visions and expressed his happiness in how we are third in the top five countries in the start-up ecosystem. He said, “We are growing every day now, with Atal Innovations and Atal Tinkering Labs we have made sure that innovation doesn’t die down and a lot of efforts are being directed in the development of a structured event for all potential initiatives. Here we have the concept to create the creators.”

Dr. Amit Bhalla, Vice President, Manav Rachna Educational Institutions agreed with them that innovation is the key to development and shared a very fascinating concept that a teacher who is not an entrepreneur is making many and how is that even possible, it is maybe because teachers are evolving themselves daily for the new roles and FDPs are here to ensure that learning may never stop. He said, “A teacher’s contribution is when he realizes the potential of a change and provide opportunities for the initiatives to be realized. They guide, they communicate, they teach, they observe and they bring changes by the medium of great innovators and that is what we need to focus upon now.”

The session is conceptualized and coordinated to bring a change and to envisage upon creating an entrepreneurial society through this faculty development program.
