Manav Rachna Dental College organizes BDS Orientation Programme

To apprise the new members of Manav Rachna family, Manav Rachna Dental College has organized a ten-day Orientation Programme for the 13th BDS Batch from 11th Sept’18 to 21st Sept’18. A Tree Plantation Drive was organized at the campus with a thought that students in their five years of college life will nurture that tree depicting the continuous process of growth.

An Anti-Ragging session was organized for the students by Dr. Saranjit Singh Bhasin, Head, Department of Prosthodontics, and Former Dean- Faculty of Dentistry, Jamia Millia Islamia. This was followed by the videos on Anti-Ragging. Dr. Bhasin apprised the students of the various forms of ragging and their implications, the seriousness and legal aspects of ragging. A session ‘Gender Sensitization’ was conducted by Dr. Chavi Bhargava Sharma, Dean, Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences wherein she motivated both boys and girls to ‘Voice your Concerns’ and ‘Respect Yourself’. She ended her lecture with- ‘Stay Safe, Not Sorry’.

‘Stalwart of Dentistry’, Prof. Dr. Binita Shrivastava, Dean, Santosh Dental College interacted with students andshared her life journey, struggles, difficulties and successes. As a woman, she highlighted the role of a woman in her career, family, society and how to balance each in life.

Dr. Sanjay Srivastava, VC, Manav Rachna University and MD, MREI blessed students for their journey ahead and highlighted that the dentistry programme up skills students in three aspects- ASK (Attitude, Skill, Knowledge). He also added that Manav Rachna education has two important ingredients- Character & Competence, and that education at MRDC will be the education for living and life.

A White Coat Ceremony was organized wherein coats were given to the Top five students in order of merit in NEET Exam.

The fifth day of orientation commenced with a motivating session by Ms. Rakhi, GM, Corporate Relations, on Career Opportunities after BDS. The day concluded with a movie screening session of ‘Chak De India’ which helped the freshers inculcate the spirit of teamwork and leadership amongst themselves.
