Legal Aid Workshop at Manav Rachna University

District Legal Services Authority under the leadership of Ms. Mona Singh, Chief Judicial Magistrate cum Secretary DLSA, organized a workshop in association with Manav Rachna University for law students on “Child and Women Rights” on March 7, 2019  at Manav Rachna Campus, Faridabad.

Ms. Hema Kaushik, Child Protection Officer and Mr. Ravinder Gupta were also present on the occasion. The Workshop was held with the directions of Haryana Legal Services Authority.

It was keenly attended by the law students and the faculties.

Ms. Hema Kaushik talked about Domestic Violence Act and its practical application in real life cases. Mr. Ravinder Gupta apprised the students about the activities of DLSA and the schemes run by it. Ms. Mona Singh, summed up the gist of the workshop and emphasized the importance of out of court settlement through mediation and conciliation through Lok Adalats. The purpose is to maintain harmony in the family and peace in society.

In addition to the visitor speakers, Dr. Somdutt Bhardwaj, Associate Professor Faculty of Law, MRU also talked about Juvenile Justice Act 2015.

It was a knowledge enhancing workshop for the students and other participants alike.
