Launch of ECOnomads with an Open Mic 1.0 Session
Department of Economics, Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences launched ECOnomads, the Economics Society of Manav Rachna on 7thDecember, 2018. It is a professional economics-society for students at Manav Rachna campus to provide an open platform for debates and discussions on contemporary public policy issues and stimulate economic thought. The prime focus of this society is to provide an intellectually stimulating environment for students and to inculcate the habit of analytical thinking and objectivity amongst them.
Prof. (Dr.) Chavi Bhargava Sharma, ED & Dean, FBSS inaugurated ECOnomads with its first event: Open Mic 1.0. Students of Department of Economics along with departments of Applied Psychology, Social Work and Liberal Arts actively participated in the event. Their thought provoking topics spanned from Section 377, social isolation, marijuana, age of waiting, inflation, happiness to ‘Dilliwalon ki matwali Dilli’ and many other diverse topics. The event was marked by glorious presence of faculty members and students from different departments at FBSS.
Certificate of participation was awarded to all the contestants, the winner and runner up of ECOnomads’s Open Mic 1.0:
- Winner: Nivedita from BA/BSc (Hons) in Applied Psychology (2ndyear)
- Runner-up: Prerna from BA/BSc (Hons) in Economics (2ndyear)
