Invited lecture on ‘Applications of Mathematics in Science & Technology’
The Department of Mathematics, Manav Rachna University organized an invited lecture on ‘Applications of Mathematics in Science & Technology’ on May 2, 2019.
Dr. Khalil Ahmad, Professor – Department of Mathematics, Al – Falah University, Faridabad & Formerly Prof. & Head, Department of Mathematics, Dean Faculty of Natural Sciences, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi was the Guest Speaker. The lecture was attended by students of B.Sc. (H) Mathematics, M.Sc. Mathematics; and Faculty Members of the Department.
Prof. Khalil commenced his talk with real life examples and situations, based on applications of Mathematics in Science & Technology. He then focused mainly on Application of Wavelets and introduced the concepts with definition and basic results on Wavelets, scaling to its applications in Signal Processing & Image Processing. He showcased his current research work on Wavelets and motivated students for research by sharing a plethora of various open problems in the area. He concluded his talk by suggesting the future research aspects and invited M.Sc. Mathematics students for projects & collaborations.
