Peace and tranquility prevailed over the campus today as students and faculty members got together to practice yoga to mark the ‘International Yoga Day’. The day commenced with the enlightening speech by Dr M K Soni, PVC, Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies on the importance of Yoga in day-to-day life. Dr Soni emphasized on the importance of Yoga for the physical as well as spiritual wellbeing.
The event was graced by Mr. R K Arora, Registrar, MRIIRS; Dr. D C Chaudhary, Advisor, Faridabad Navchetna Trust; Ms Archana Gupta, Bhartiya Yoga Sansthan; Dr. Gurjeet Kaur Chawla, Associate Dean Students Welfare, MRIIRS; Dr. Arundeep Singh, Principal, Manav Rachna Dental College; Ms. Divya Sudarshan, Kairali Ayurvedic Treatment Centre.
An inspirational and motivating performance by the ‘Yoga of the Day’ group was much appreciated by all the 150 participants of the event. The ongoing ‘Yogamania’ contest winners were also announced today. The first prize went to Sanjeev from MRU, second prize to Shweta from Lingayas University, and the third prize went to Sakshi from MRIIRS.
Vaishali Singhal from MRU received the prize for Slogan Writing and Poster Making Competition. All the winners received the vouchers from the Kairali Ayurvedic Treatment Centre.
Ms Neela Bhatia from Bhartiya Yoga Sansthan assisted the participants in Asanas which was followed by Pranayam session by Ms Archana Gupta.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks for all the partners who made this event a huge success. The certificates were bestowed upon Fitness Partner- Hype Gym, Sec 21C; Wellness Partner- Aesthetic World; Healthcare Partner- Kairali Ayurvedic Treatment Centre; Beverage Partner- Verka; and Gifting Partner- Adda/Pastry Shop.
