MREI, known for offering its students a rich and incredible variety of opportunities where hands-on experiences and development of leadership skills are embedded in the system, took to displaying various innovative products designed and developed by its students. Themed on ‘Skilling Tomorrow’s Thought leaders’, the tableau was led by Ayush a 2nd year student riding an electric scooter that he himself conceptualized and assembled. He was followed by two Go-carts again fabricated by the students of MREI. On the tableau, students could be seen using engineering tools to work on their innovations, a robotic mural created by welding waste parts and students programming robots. The tableau was a reflection of MREI’s commitment towards the nation building process, amply evident in the strong entrepreneurial ecosystem prevalent in the campus in view of Hon’ble Prime Minister’s ‘Make in India’ and ‘Skill India’ initiatives. The aim has been to bridge the gap between theory and practice so as to enable students to set up their own start-up enterprises. It is in this regard that Manav Rachna Innovation and Incubation Centre (MRIIC) is engaged in encouraging innovation and developing technology for new start-up enterprises besides providing direct mentoring and incubation support to the students. Some of MRIIC’s notable and award winning innovative projects displayed at the tableau included All Terrain Vehicle, Solar Powered Golf Cart and Efficycle. With innovation being a way of life at Manav Rachna, the tableau brought to light the fact that students have created products that are as unique as they are technology-driven, with benefits that are bound to impact the world at large.
