Industry visits sensitize students to the practical challenges that organizations face in the business world. Industrial visits also give greater clarity about various processing concepts for students as they can practically see how these concepts are put into action. Moreover, it gives exposure from the academic point of view about the practical working environment. It also provides students with a good opportunity to gain awareness about industrial practices.
A visit to Whole Foods Pvt. Ltd Faridabad, Haryana had been organized by the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics under the series of industrial educational visits being conducted for the benefits of students. Students of MSc- Nutrition and Dietetics (III Sem) along with a faculty member visited Dreamcann Foods Pvt. Ltd. under the banner of Whole Foods Pvt. Ltd Faridabad, recently. The main objective of the industrial visit is to provide students with an insight of the practical applications of what they are learning in theory as theoretical knowledge is not enough for making a good professional career.
Mr.Devendra Bhatnagar, Managing Director, Dreamcann Foods Pvt Ltd (trade name – Whole Foods) addressed the students and introduced the Whole Foods group. He explained about the functioning of the Unit.
Mr. Mudit (Quality Assurance Manager) gave a brief about the whole unit which had the following microbiology lab, kitchen, bakery room, packaging room, gluten-free room, metal detector space, cold room, store room for the finished product.
This visit was highly interactive for the students in terms of practical knowledge about the gluten-free foods, production and operations within a manufacturing plant. This visit will also be helpful for them to find placement opportunities in such industries.
