Indianization in Literature and Culture

The first speaker was Prof. Shikha Saxena, at Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi. She had more than 20 years of experience in teaching. She is also a poet, short story writer, and an ELT expert. Dr. Maneeta Kahlon, Associate Professor at Shanti Devi Arya Mahila College, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar was the second speaker. She had more than 14 years of experience in teaching. She is a great writer and has many books to her credit.

Both the speakers presented their views on the relevance of Shakespeare in the Indian context. Prof. Shikha Saxena presented her views on the Shakespearean adaptations in the Indian theatre, whereas Dr. Maneeta talked about the Shakespearean adaptations in movies and cinema. The presentations were followed by Q/A round. The speakers took the questions posed by the attendees and addressed them to their satisfaction.

The event was coordinated by Dr. Jayashree Hazarika and Dr. Tripti Tyagi. The webinar witnessed an enormous strength of over 800 persons. Over all, it was very informative and enlightening session, both for the students and the teaching fraternity.
