“A sustainable idea is like a play which needs a good producer and a good promoter even if it is a masterpiece”
The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it. Keeping the same intent, the workshop was conducted introducing the Idea generation and Creativity tool, SCAMPER, for BBA students of Manav Rachna University. The activity aimed at developing the thinking faculties of various students by confronting them with a task of generating ideas, and having individuals work in collaboration to produce solutions that are not only innovative, easily implemented but are sustainable as well. This also included exploiting opportunities that are present in market failures which detract from sustainability, including those that are environmentally relevant. Around 80+ students participated in the event. They were then allocated in a group of four each. Each team was given a product to apply the SCAMPER technique. A lot of new Ideas and processes were presented by the groups. The students tried to brainstorm on the best possible avenues that can be considered for future commercialization.
Some teams shared their presentation with inputs that were both contributory and challenging in nature, the utility of which is a more refined solution hitting at the heart of the activity. The team that came up with the most innovative and sustainable solutions was declared as the winner.
The winning team included Tushar Manchanda, Sankul, Chetna Dixit and Gurnoor kohli, students of BBA 1st Sem who presented the application of the technique on the product “Watch”.
The workshop was conducted by Dr Pragati Chauhan, Associate Professor & HoD-DMC and Dr Yogita Sharma, Associate Professor, DMC.
