In order to develop the technical skills and provide a platform to show case the technical talent, for the students, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, in association with IBM, organized a one day Mega Technical Event on October 22, 2018. The students enrolled in various IBM programs and participated in the events including Technical Poster presentation, Technical paper presentation, Hackathon and Project presentation.
During the Inaugural function, Dean FET, Prof. Krishan Kant, while doing a warm welcome, shared the information about IBM legacy and its role in development of modern day computing.
Mr. Rituraj Juneja, head of the career development at IBM, shared the market situation that there is a great mismatch between what industry wants and what the budding engineers aspire for. He shared that as per reports more than 60% engineering graduates are not employable. On one side the industry is not able to find the suitable candidates, while on the other side students are not able to find the placements. He shared the requirement of essential skills for budding engineers to get good placement.
Dr N.C. Wadhwa, Vice Chancellor, MRIIRS emphasized on the overall development of students, through these activities.
The winners were felicitated and the first, second and third position holder teams were honored with gold, silver and bronze medals. The event ended with the vote of thanks by Suresh Kumar, Head of Dept, CSE.
