Faculty of Commerce and Business Studies organized Hindi Divas Mahotsav on the occasion of Hindi Divas on September 14, 2016 for Students and Faculty of MRIU.
Prof. Anil Sarin, Professor FCBS inaugurated the event.
The event incorporated two competitions, in which both faculty as well as students participated with all their hearts. The first event was a poster making event, which required students to make posters on given themes (Hindi KaAstitva, BadaltaDaur and NaariSashaktikaran). It was overwhelming to see that numerous students from across MRIU had come together and participated. The response was great as there were more than 50 teams that participated in the poster making competition. It was even more overwhelming to see that our beloved Prof. Anil Sarin also sat down with the students and contributed in the event by making a poster himself. This was a tremendous motivational factor for our students as well as the faculty. The competition was judged by Prof. Anil Sarin(FCBS), Ms. Sonia Duggal (FCA) and Ms. RadhaPandit(FCBS). The outstanding performance of all participants had made it very tough for the judges to evaluate and come to a decision about the winners.
The second event was Poetry Competition, with the same themes as mentioned above. Again, it was extremely pleasing to see the zeal and rigor with which the faculty members and students had participated. It is worth mentioning that most of the participants had recited self written poems, which expressed beautiful thoughts on the themes given. The poems recited by all were phenomenal. It was a moment of immense pride for all of us to see how students expressed their love for Hindi language and also shared views on how important it is to respect and empower women and work towards gender equality. The poetry competition was judged by Prof. Anil Sarin(FCBS) and Ms. Sonia Duggal (FCA).
The event was concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Preeti Chhabra, Cultural Coordinator- FCBS. This brought the program to its end.
