Department of Aeronautical Engineering organized hands-on training and workshop on Engineering Methodologies in Aero Design recently. Students and faculty of Aeronautical, Mechanical and Automobile Engineering attended the workshop. Besides the internal faculty member, Sh. Yajur Kumar, external experts including Mr. Ramandeep Singh and Mr. Sandeep Sharma from Aerosphere Pvt. Ltd, Chandigarh were invited to conduct the workshop. Mr. Sandeep Sharma, Technical Head, Aerosphere Pvt. Ltd. is a Consultant at Airbus (Filton, UK) and Ford (Detroit, US) and a Certified Structural Design & Stress Analyst with 3 Patents, 4 Trade secrets & 14 I.P to his credit.

The talk largely focused on Design & Validation of Aircrafts, Automobiles & General Engineering wherein latest research and trends in aeronautical engineering sector and aspects of various products were discussed. During the session, Mr. Ramandeep encouraged the students to plan strategically to shape their career and to work wholeheartedly towards achieving their goals. Mr. Sandeep Sharma explained the activities of Airbus Industries spread over many countries inside and outside Europe and the extent to which Aerosphere is involved in working with Airbus and other industries in and outside India in the areas of simulation and design. The visitors also discussed the training opportunities that can be provided to the students of Aeronautical Engineering.

The session was quite motivating and helped the students to learn the basic aircraft design and performance aspects.
