Guest Lecture on “Sustainable Lifestyle for Stopping Climate Change” for UG & PG Students: Department of English, FMeH

The Department of English, Faculty of Media Studies and Humanities, MRIIRS organized an online guest lecture for UG & PG Students recently which was delivered by Dr. Seema Vaid on a highly relevant topic- “Sustainable Lifestyle for stopping Climate Change”.

Dr. Seema Vaid is an IT professional based in California, USA, and has an immense passion to make the planet more sustainable. She has earned a Ph.D. in Finance from B.H.U. She has also taught at prestigious colleges and universities in Australia and the US, which include, Sydney Business Academy, San Jose City College, National University, and Silicon Valley University. She has earned a Certification in Sustainability from ‘Center for Sustainability and Excellence’ in San Francisco.

Dr. Seema Vaid gave an engaging and inspiring talk about the challenges faced by humanity due to the threat of Climate Change. She gave a glimpse of her journey towards a sustainable lifestyle and how the next generation can contribute towards stopping climate change. She emphasized the fact that Climate Change can spell doom for the entire humanity, as well as the planet earth. She also urged the students to take constructive steps in making significant changes in their lifestyle, which had the potential to go a long way in improving the condition of the environment. Dr. Vaid gave the example of Greta Thunberg, the famous Swedish environmental activist who at the age of 15 gained international recognition for promoting the view that humanity is on verge of extinction due to climate change.

Students voiced their opinions and asked various relevant questions to understand the topic.
