Guest Lecture By Mr Manoj Chugh President, Business Development: Enterprise Business, Tech Mahindra

To thrive in the digital age, employer and employee need to broaden their outlook and re-examine their metaphysical assumptions of how the world ‘is’.

These words were the core of the interactive session students of 3 rd year Computer Science and Technology, Manav Rachna University had with Mr MANOJ CHUGH, President, Business Development: Enterprise Business, Tech Mahindra, organized by Prof. Jaideep Singh, Director Industry Interaction and HoD Humanities, MRU.

Mr. Manoj Chugh an ICT industry veteran, has managed and led companies to leadership positions across diverse business segments including servers, satellite communications, networking and data storage. Prior to joining Tech Mahindra, Mr. Manoj was the Regional President, APJ for EMC’s Global Accounts Program.

In a stellar career spanning over three decades, Mr. Manoj has been bestowed with several industry accolades: Data Quest listed him as one of the top 10 people to have shaped the last decade of the Indian IT industry. He was awarded the ‘Best IT Man of the year 2001’ by the National Foundation of Indian Engineers and conferred an Honorary Fellowship of the e-Information Systems, Security and Audit Association (eISSA), besides other laurels. He has served as the Chairman of SNIA (Storage Networking Industry Association) India and has also been on the Executive Board of the American Chambers of Commerce in India (AMCHAM) for six years. Manoj is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur and is based in Delhi, India.

In his address, Mr. Chugh spoke at length about challenges of the digital world, digital engagement and sense of entitlement through real-life examples. He made the session highly interactive. He stressed the need for doing projects in lower semesters to gain experience. He said that project work is a way of applying the skills and knowledge acquired during academics in solving or analysing real-life problems and drawing conclusions. In addition, he talked about artificial intelligence.
