Faculty of Applied Sciences, Manav Rachna International University conducted ‘HEALTH ASSESSMENT CAMP’

A health assessment camp for the benefit of MREI employees was organized in association with BATRA HOSPITAL & MEDICAL RESEARCH CENTRE, New Delhi on the occasion of WORLD PHYSIOTHERAPY DAY. The camp was inaugurated by Dr. N.C Wadhwa, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, MRIU.

The camp was preceded by a Rally March by the undergraduate and postgraduate physiotherapy students in the MREI campus to spread awareness about benefits of Physiotherapy. The camp included free medical consultation, cardiology check-up and physiotherapy and nutrition advice. The assessment included ECG monitoring, Blood sugar measurement, BP measurement, Body Mass Index (BMI), Oxygen saturation, Flexibility testing, Physiotherapy advice and Diet counseling. All the assessment was carried out using latest state-of-the-art equipments.

The dedicated professionals who attended the camp included Dr Sayeed Rahim (Chest Physician, BATRA Hospital), Mr. Parvez Alam , Co-ordinator along with dedicated support staff that included Volunteers ,Nurses and ECG technicians. The Deptt. of Physiotherapy was represented by Dr. Manish Kumar, Dr. Fauzia , Dr. Preeti and Dr. Mahak along with post graduate and under-graduate Physiotherapy & Nutrition & Dietetics students.

The camp was a success with over 140 patients being assessed, advised and counseled. Large number of people who were part of the camp included Middle aged individuals who had  basic fitness issues related to cardiovascular and musculoskeletal system like knee, back and neck pain. Medicines, regular exercise, ergonomic advice and life style modification were emphasized upon to halt and alter the disease process of the patient. The patients were counseled about the importance of hygiene & exercises in maintaining good health.
