E-Waste Awareness Drive

Manav Rachna Organised  E-Waste Awareness Drive

“We abuse land because we regard it as a commodity belonging to us. When we see land as a community to which we belong, we may begin to use it with love and respect.”

                                                                         Aldo Leopold

To create Awareness on E-Waste ManagementClan Rhinos under the aegis of Manav Rachna Life Skills Program in association with Dr. O. P. Bhalla Foundationorganized an E-Waste Awareness Drive in the Manav Rachna Campus recently. The drive kicked off with the Clan Chief Dr. Sangita Banga and Vice Chief Ms. Charu Pujara offering sapling to the speaker of the day- Ms. Aparna from an NGO – Chintan, who works for environmental justice in partnership with people and                                                    groups from diverse sections of society.

More than 70 students from various departments of Manav Rachna University and Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies attended the session and gained knowledge about managing the E-Waste around them. After an interactive session with the students, a short documentary was presented. Displaying the different ways of processing the E-Waste, the film shed light on hazards faced by the people associated with unauthorized processing units. The awareness drive concluded with an inspiring talk by Dr. Sangita Banga to motivate students to come forward and manage E-Waste in their nearby surroundings. An E-Waste collection bin has also been set up in the campus for a week adopting a great practice to collect e-waste.
