Day 6 Highlights of 7- Day International FDP on “Research in Virtual World”: Dept of English, MRIIRS

Department of English, FMeH conducted a 7-Day International Faculty Development Programme on “Research in Virtual World” for the faculty members and the researchers.

Day 6 of the Session started with welcoming the guests and participants by the Department of English, FMeH. This seven-day FDP was organized in association with Cape Comorin Trust, Grand Academic Portal of India and Lavender Literary Club. More than 100 participants have registered and joined the FDP from different Colleges and Universities.

Session 1 was conducted and delivered by Dr. Maneeta Kahlon, Associate Professor, SDAM College, GNDU Amritsar. She has more than 14 years of experience in teaching. She is a great writer and has to her credit many books. Dr. Maneeta spoke on the phenomena of distress; which may also get reversed into U –stress, if people have the right spirit. She said positive stress is a healthy spirit and it leads into positive growth; she took an instance –“Job loss can be well equated as job hunt, if one has positive stress”. She also spoke on acute stress and chronic stress where acute stress is reversible and can be restricted to turn into chronic.

The next speaker was Dr. Leonilo Capsulso, CEO President, Beyond Books Publication, Philippines. Dr. Leonilo analyzed the use of technology as essential as food in the online era. He said that the teachers must learn to use broader technological equipment to teach in the virtual classrooms. They should train themselves to become expert and wise to use technology in a smoother way to deal with the students in the virtual era.

The third speaker was Dr. Prashant Mothe, Department of English, Adarsh Mahavidyalaya, Omerga. His topic was ‘Research Design’ and he spoke on Research and the effective manner of writing a research paper. Dr. Prashant emphasized on Plagiarism and UGC Regulations for the benefit of the young researchers. Overall, the sessions were of great information and inculcated a necessity to remain stress free and to acquire an updated knowledge of what the present condition drives the society towards.

The session ended with the speakers clarifying the doubts of the participants through the question and answer round. The sessions were very informative and quite insightful for all the researchers and educationists.

Dr. Shivani Vashist, Professor & HOD, Department of English, FMeH was the Convenor of this FDP. At the end of the session, a feedback form was filled by the participants. The session was smoothly conducted by all the speakers and the participants were quite enthusiastic.
