Cross Border Insolvency: Should India adopt the UNCITRAL Model Law?

The Faculty of Law joined hands with the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) and the UNCITRAL National Coordination Committee for India (UNCCI) to host this webinar on cross border insolvency. The distinguished speakers were Judge Allan L Gropper (Former Bankruptcy Judge, Southern District Court, New York), Dr TK Viswanathan (Bankruptcy Law Reforms Committee), Kate Lannan (Senior Legal Officer, UNCITRAL), and Sumant Batra (Partner, Kesar Dass B & Associates). The topics discussed included an overview of the UNCITRAL Model Law on Cross Border Insolvency, its main advantages and other related dimensions.

Aparna Ravi (Partner, Samvad Partners) and Adwaita Sharma (Advocate, Delhi High Court) moderated this webinar which was attended by 142 delegates from India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, UAE, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Hungary, the UK, South Africa, Nigeria, Swaziland, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, South Korea, Mexico, the USA, and Canada.
