Community Health Camp At Sector 21C, Faridabad

Manav Rachna International University, Faridabad has always been a front runner in providing a helping hand to any public initiative and community service. MRIU has had a long standing tradition in presenting its expertise and services for any social enterprise for the benefit of community at large.

On the occasion of World Physiotherapy Day celebrated worldwide on September 8 every year, The Dep’t. Of Physiotherapy, Faculty of Applied Science, MRIU organized a community health camp at SECTOR 21 C, FARIDABAD in association with the Residents Welfare Society. Mr. D S Nirvan, President, RWA welcomed the team and provided the necessary arrangements.

The health camp witnessed a total of 65 patients in a time span of 3 hours. A team of physiotherapists comprising of dedicated post graduate students from all the specialties (musculoskeletal, neurology, sports and cardiopulmonary) examined and treated a large no. of patients with various conditions like ankle pain, osteoarthritis, neck pain, low back ache, PA shoulder, hypertension, stroke, parkinsonism etc.

Proper counseling regarding diet; exercises increasing strength and flexibility were emphasized upon. A lot of stress was put in imparting postural instructions to the patients as it was found to be one of the major factors contributing to health problems in form of pain and disability. Regular exercise, ergonomic advices and life style modification were emphasized upon to halt and alter the deterioration level of the patient. The prescriptions of exercise were done after considering the Biomechanical assessment, level of pain and convenience of the patient. The patients were also counseled about their diet and proper nutrition counseling was provided by able N&D students.
