Biotech students presented Poster at 2nd International Cancer Immunotherapy Workshop

Students of B.Tech Biotechnology (3rd Semester) along with Dr. Nidhi Didwania, Associate Professor, Department of Biotechnology, FET, MRIIRS presented posters at 2nd International workshop on ‘Cancer Immunotherapy, theme: Gene Therapy in Cancer’ recently at India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi. The themes of the posters were: Nanoparticles in Cancer Gene Therapy, Gene Editing Technology for cancer and the vectors in Gene Therapy. The posters were highly appreciated by the members of the Delhi Tumour Board, and students and Dr. Nidhi Didwania were acknowledged for their participation and contribution to the workshop.

During the poster session, the students interacted with Dr. Debojyoti Charaborty, Senior Scientist, IGIB; Dr. Rajarshi Roy Choudhary, Senior Scientist, Engene Inc. Canada and many other eminent scientists and clinicians, and enquired about the advantages and disadvantages of various gene therapy techniques. Dr. Pooja Saxena who is working on cancer research, enlightened and shared her incredible results about the viral vectors and virus-like particles in Cancer Therapy. The students also participated in the discussion with the scientists and clinicians from Medicago R & D Inc, Qubec city, Translational Health Science & Technology Institute (THSTI), NCR Biotech-Science cluster, IIT, Delhi, AIIMS, Apollo Hospitals, Safdarjung Medical College, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals and many other eminent institutions. The event had a positive impact on the students thereby opening up their minds and thought process. They were also exposed to the recent level of Research in Gene Therapy in Cancer.
