FACULTY OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY

Celebration of National Science Day at Translational Health Science & Technology Institute, Faridabad held on 28.02.2022.

Nineteen students and two faculty members, Dr. Rashmi Rameshwari and Dr. Kanchan Bhardwaj of MRIIRS participated in this event.

The event was started by a welcome note by Dr. Nitya Wadhwa followed by an address by the Executive Director, THSTI, Dr. Pramod Garg. A keynote Lecture was delivered by the Chief Guest, Prof. Narinder Kumar Mehra. Prof. Narinder is an Hon. Emeritus Scientist, ICMR, Former Dean & National Chair, AIIMS, Delhi, Vice President (international affairs), INSA. Felicitation of the Chief guest was done by Dr. Shinjini Bhatnagar. This was followed by oral presentation by THSTI PhD scholars and research fellows and a quiz competition. A team of four students from four colleges, Sri Venkateswara, Delhi University; Maitreyi, Delhi University; Hansraj Delhi University and MRIIRS participated in the quiz competition. Following four students of MRIIRS participated in the quiz competition, based on general science, and won a second prize:

1. Priti Bhowmik (B. Tech BT 4^th Sem)
2. Tanvi Sidhwani (B. Tech BT 1^st Sem)
3. Samadrita Haldar (B. Sc. Microbiology 1^st Sem)
4. Sawan Yadav (B. Sc. Microbiology 1^st Sem)

As a second prize, students received certificates and a cash prize of Rs. 8000/-. Other students also received certificates, for event participation.

During the second half of the day, students visited various facilities/labs of THSTI including the NGS facility and the microscopy facility. They also had an opportunity to interact with researchers in various labs.
