In order to find out the best athlete in the institution, Department of Students Welfare organized a Best Dancer competition as a part of Hunt for the Best event series on 18th March 2016 in T Block Auditorium. 31 participants from different faculties took part in the competition which was judged by Mr. Sumit, Dance teacher, MRIS Charmwood. The competition started at 12.30 pm and the first round comprised of the participants performing their rehearsed and prepared piece of dance. The dancers left the audience mesmerized and 10 participants were selected for the final round in which the finalists had to pick a chit and dance on the song named in the chit instantaneously.

The close competition between the participants justified the name Hunt for the Best. Technique, Steps clarity, presence of mind, movement, rhythm sense etc. played an important part in the judgement. Samyukta (2nd year, B. Tech (CSE) FET, MRIU) was declared as the winner of the event while Diksha (1st year B. tech ECE, FET), Shikha (1st year M. Sc. Biotech, FET) and Kapil (2nd year, BCA, FCA) got special mention by the judge.

In addition to the trophy and certificates, Mr. Sumit announced that he would provide a 2 days workshop to the top 10 finalists for free and a chance to perform with him in future assignments.
