“Be a Teacher to Someone”- Initiative by DSW on Teacher’s Day

Dr. Daisaku Ikeda writes, “Believing in people, believing in some undiscovered quality and drawing it out is the vigorous spirit of education.”

Manav Rachna holds the ideals “Manav ki Rachna”

Keeping these morals in mind, the volunteers of the National Service Scheme Unit, Department of Student Welfare, Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies undertook an initiative, “Be a Teacher to Someone” on the occasion of teacher’s day. The volunteers under this campaign visited the Miracle Charitable Society, Faridabad, an adoption center registered under the Women and Child Development Department of Haryana to be a teacher to someone as they understand that Education is a fundamental right. On entering the gates of The Miracle Charitable Society, the volunteers were stunned by the innocence and loved the children there had to offer to them. The pure-heartedness of the children was evident during the various games and activities. The students of Manav Rachna got the opportunity to interact with them and teach them how to paint and color, understanding the beautiful and lifelong mentor-disciple bond shared between a teacher and a student. Early Education – teaching the base of the alphabet and numbers was also introduced to children.

The volunteers returned with empathy in their hearts and a learning experience of a lifetime.
